Given this, the only problem with bearded track and lizards may be their sometimes peculiar habits and their diet. Feeding a Bearded Dragon Lizard can be a pain sometimes. This is because of their unique diet.

Bearded Dragon Lizards are omnivores, meaning they will eat pretty much anything. However, in the wild these lizards will feast on various vegetation, worms, grasshoppers and insects. They will also go for small animals such as mice and other tiny creatures.

If you plan to keep the Bearded Dragon Lizard in your home, you at least have to know its diet and the methods of feeding them. Without this knowledge, you will never be able to properly care for the pet. Fortunately, most pet stores have supplies you will need to feed your little lizard friend.

Bearded Dragon Lizards are voracious eaters. This is especially true when they are young. They can eat a lot and will need this fuel to grow and to go about. This means you will have to supply them with an ever-increasing amount of food if you purchase the lizard while it is still a hatchling.

Insects
Insects are a great part of the Bearded Dragon Lizards diet. While most lizards also eat vegetation, growing hatchlings have a preference for crushed insects instead. Bearded Dragon Lizards are hardy hunters and you'll have to provide them with sufficient food so that they can remain sated.

In fact, if you don't feed your Bearded Dragon Lizard well enough, they may very well chomp down on their own tales and appendages. For them anything that moves could possibly be prey-or food for that matter. So if you don't feed them correctly, you might see less and less of them as they devour themselves.

Bearded Dragon Lizards love grasshoppers, meal worms, and other bugs. So you have to feed the hatchlings crushed insects two to three times a day. Make sure that when you feed your dragon, you crush them enough so that they don't cause any blockage in the dragon's digestive system.

Gradually increase the amount of food they eat as the lizard grows. When your bearded dragon is an adult, you will have to feed them a good amount of crickets, meal worms and a pinky mouse once in awhile.

Leafy Greens
Bearded Dragon Lizards also love leafy vegetables. Give them a good stock of vegetation to work with as they grow older. Young dragon lizards are not interested in such vegetation as they are growing up. But you can incorporate it gradually into their diet.

You may also incorporate different types of vegetables and fruits such as apples, radish, turnips, and pretty much anything in your kitchen. Just make sure you give them fresh ones that are conveniently chopped.

Water
Bearded Dragon Lizards don't drink water out of a saucer; they absorb it from dew in the wild. To mimic this effect you have to spray the lizard once a day. Although he can get its moisture from the vegetables it eats, it would be best if you had it to make moisture from its tongue while you spray it. Make sure you don't allow it to dehydrate as it could very well affect its health.
